PhytoTrade Africa is a Southern African cluster (non-profit trade association) supported by FFEM that aims to support the commercial development of indigenous plant and finished product chains in Southern Africa for the benefit of poor rural communities and SMEs in the region, in the context of biodiversity protection.
To support the development of its activities, Red Mangrove supported the evolution of the association’s governance. The mission consisted in supporting the drafting of the new strategy and business plan, developing a new organisational structure, proposing a new mode of governance (including new statutes and work contracts encouraging performance and preventing conflicts of interest), and preparing a change management plan. Red Mangrove also carried out a legal and financial audit and proposed the basis for an ISO-type management system, which would allow for greater customer focus, clear reporting mechanisms and continuous improvement.
